Pit stop #1

It's never good when you see a 4 year old sitting in the seat next to yours when you walk onto a plane.  Especially when it's a 10 hour flight.  Their parents are either deliberately trying to keep the kid far from them or they're going to ask you to give up your comfortable window seat that you picked out so you can sleep on the flight, for something less desirable.

Thanks to a little Ambien, I didn't suffer too much after losing my window seat.  On the upside, I sat next to a very nice engineer on his way to Saudi Arabia.  His company builds pumps for water purification systems.  As cute as that 4 year old was, I doubt he would have entertained me for over an hour with the various pros and cons of using different alloys in the water making business.

The rest of the flight went smoothly and after deplaning I managed to find my way to the KLM Crown Room.  I am currently enjoying a typical Euorpean breakfast with a cappucino while a wait for my next flight.

Just one more long slow blink of the eye and I'll be on the subcontinent...

  1. Nate the Great! Yay for the blog - glad I inspired you to do something besides make guacamole. I LOVE "the Rickshaw Express" - (almost) 8000 miles away and you are still making me laugh out loud. Happy trails my friend - I will be praying and can't wait to hear all about it on the other side! mfg xoxo
